The octotally – your finance manager is a client-side, browser-based application designed to assist sole proprietors, freelancers, and small business owners with basic financial tracking and reporting. It is provided “as is” for informational and organizational purposes only.
2. Data Storage and Responsibility
- Local Data Storage: All financial data (transactions, reports, etc.) entered into or uploaded to this Service is stored exclusively within your local web browser’s storage (e.g., session storage or local storage). No data is transmitted to or stored on our servers or any third-party servers.
- User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the security, backup, and integrity of your financial data. We strongly recommend regularly exporting your data (e.g., to CSV files) to prevent loss.
- Data Loss: We are not responsible for any loss of data that may occur due to browser issues, clearing browser data, device failure, or any other reason.
3. Accuracy of Information
- While the Service aims to provide accurate financial calculations and reports based on the data you input, it is a simplified tool and should not be considered a substitute for professional accounting advice, financial planning, or tax preparation.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the data you enter. The accuracy of reports generated by the Service depends entirely on the accuracy of the data provided by you.
4. No Financial Advice
- The Service does not provide financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Any insights or reports generated are for your internal organizational purposes only. You should consult with qualified professionals for specific financial decisions.

- Important Note: The financial data you input and store locally within the octotally – your finance manager application is never accessed, collected, shared, or used by us or any third-party ad network for the purpose of ad targeting or personalization. Your financial data remains strictly local to your browser as described in Section 2.

- In no event shall the creators of the octotally – your finance manager, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage, and even if a remedy set forth herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose.
